Every child learns differently—and that’s why we start by really understanding where your child is today.
At CALE, we know that supporting children with dyslexia and complex reading challenges takes more than quick fixes—it requires the right approach, the right tools, and the right expertise. That’s why our fully accredited Tutoring Center is built around the science of reading, with a deep commitment to structured literacy.

Structured literacy breaks reading down into the essential skills—like sounds, patterns, word parts, and sentence structure—and teaches them step by step. This approach gives children the tools they need to sound out words, understand what they read, and feel more confident in the process.

At your first session, we begin with an assessment to see exactly where your child is thriving and where they need support. From there, we create a personalized plan designed just for them. With the right support, kids don’t just improve their reading skills, they gain the confidence to succeed in school and beyond.

Step Three: Schedule Your First Session

During your child’s first session, we will complete an assessment to identify their strengths and areas for growth. The results guide us in targeting specific skills during each tutoring session.

You will use our easy scheduling system to select tutoring days and times that fit your family’s schedule. Each 50 minute session is one-on-one, so your child receives focused, individualized attention.

When do tutoring sessions run?
Tutoring sessions will resume on September 8, 2025, and continue throughout the school year.Please note that we will pause sessions during holiday breaks. Availability can be viewed once you log into our system.​​

Do you have tutoring sessions available for summer? ​​
Yes, sessions are available in the summer months.

Is your tutoring center accredited and can I use MOScholars ESA money to pay for tutoring services?
Yes! We are accredited by Cognia and we can accept MOScholars ESA money for tutoring services. Directions to submit your name to the Herzong Foundation can be found on our website under the tuition tab.

​How do I sign up for a session? Do I have to sign up?
Yes, we require you to sign up so that our tutors are prepared for your student! You will receive an email with instructions for how to sign into our scheduling system.

Do I need to stay during my student's tutoring sessions?
No, you do not have to stay. But, if you choose to, we will give you a place to sit while your student is in their session.

How do I purchase tutoring sessions?
You will be invoiced through our online system. You can pay through our tutoring portal, which can be paid online via credit card, ACH bank transfer, or you can bring us a check. ​
